Bernadette Peters
Bernadette Peters (nee Lazzara was born on February 28 1948) is an American actress, singer and author of children's books. She has appeared in television, film, musical theatre and solo performances, and also recorded recordings. Her career spans more than six years. She is a highly respected Broadway performer. She has received seven Tony Awards nominations (plus an honorary award) along with nine Drama Desk Award nominations. Grammy Awards were won for four of her Broadway performances.
Peters is widely acknowledged as the most famous interpreter of the works written by Stephen Sondheim. Her roles on Broadway include Mack and Mabel (1974), Sunday in the Park with George (84), Song and Dance (1985), Into the Woods with George (87), The Goodbye Girl(93), Annie Get Your Gun 1999), Gypsy (2003), A Little Night Music (2009), Follies (2011) as well as Hello, Dolly (2018).
