Alison Doody

Alison Doody, born 11 November 1966 in Ireland is a model and actor. She made her movie debut as an actress and Bond actress in A View to a Kill, (1985). Then she was as a character in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in 1989. She played Nazi sympathizing archaeologist Elsa Schneider. Siobhan Doovan played Charlotte in Taffin in 1988 and Rebecca Flannery starred in Major League II in 1994. Doody started modeling after being invited by an experienced photographer. The result was an enviable modeling career in the commercial world. Doody avoided nude and glamour modeling, which she carried over to her acting. In 1985, after being noticed by the casting directors of the James Bond new film, Doody was cast in a minor portion of Jenny Flex as in A View to a Kill. Doody was named one of the 12 most promising young actors in 1986 in John Willis Screen World. 38. Doody had just turned 18 years old at the time she was cast in the character of Bond girl. She remains the youngest Bond girl. A Prayer for the Dying (1997), starring Mickey Rourke, also featured a smaller role as IRA Siobhan. Doody played an unseen role in the film as Archibald Craven's wife Lilias as she appeared in the film adaptation of his fantasy, 1987's version of The Secret Garden. The storyteller's episode Sapsorrow was her first lead role. It aired in 1988 with John Hurt, Dawn French as well as Jennifer Saunders. She played opposite Pierce Brosnan in the film Taffin (1988) before taking perhaps her most well-known role in her career in the role of Austrian Nazi-sympathiser and archaeologist the Dr. Elsa Schneider in 1989's Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade in which she starred alongside Harrison Ford. Doody has worked with three James Bond actors. In 1991 Doody co-starred opposite Jonathan Pryce in British mini-series Selling Hitler inspired by the publication fraud, also known as the Hitler Diaries. After moving to Hollywood Doody was a star. She was chosen to replace Cybill Shepard as L'Oreal spokesperson and then went on to star opposite Charlie Sheen as Flannery, his agent and girlfriend as Flannery's girlfriend and agent in Major League II. After almost a decade away from the stage Doody came back to acting, with a small role in 2003's British comedy film The Actors with Michael Caine acting as herself in an event scene for the award ceremony. The year 2004, she appeared with Patrick Swayze alongside a TV adaptation of King Solomon's Mines. Also, she appeared on Benjamin's Struggle (2005), which was a pamphlet that described the Holocaust. Doody had a minor role in Danny Dyer's film The Rapture (2010). Doody appeared on RTE's Medical drama The Clinic. The project was later canceled. Her first two seasons of Beaver Falls, the E4 comedy Beaver Falls in 2011 as Pam Jefferson. In 2014, she appeared in We Still Kill the Old Way. She received the Almeria Tierra de Cinema award on the 21st of November, 2018.
